Now a extremely rare shrub now found only in the Azores Islands where it is almost extinct. Attractive distinctively white-veined, leathery green leaves and large yellow flower heads which are strongly honey-scented in spring and summer. It is said to grow taller than E. mellifera but not with me. My 20 year old plant has been allowed to grow without any cutting back because I have the space for it to do so. Size approx1.25m x 4m. Don't let this size put you off as it can be cut back to whatever size is required. It is attractive in large pots. Propagation appears to be by seed but I so far have not found any so have had to revert to cuttings and it is a slow process with large failures. Hence at present only 4 plants are available for sale.
