| Stiff squared stems carry upright branching flower-heads densely packed with tiers of mauve-tinted buds among which sparkle tiny blue-lipped flowers. Leaves, stems and buds are densely clothed in white wool, giving a pale silvery-grey effect. Colourful for weeks in midsummer, still providing good outline when drought drains colour. Has thick swollen roots like a dahlia, another adaptation to drought. Needs well drained soil in sun. 60 cm. PB2 Limited number. |
